Leslieville Kitchen & Powder Room
This narrow urban home had a darker central core where the kitchen and living room was located. To improve this matter, the chimney was removed to open the sightlines between the two rooms
and a larger awning window was installed over the kitchen sink. The narrow space between the houses softly filters daylight and brightens the space. The kitchen was physically and visually
expanded by reducing the adjacent bathroom to a 2 piece powder room and integrating the basement door within the full height millwork making it seem part of the cabinetry.
The quartered Mozambique veneer was hand selected, slip matched and sequenced for the cabinetry and pairs well with the simplicity of the integrated finger pulls and millwork. The honed
Kashmir white granite counters are complimented by the pale blue floating shelves. The custom plaster hood was crafted onsite and conceals the extractor fan.
