High Park Stately Home Renovation and Rear Addition

In the High Park neighborhood of Toronto, this stately home underwent a full update with a focus on the interior and a new rear addition. Beauparlant was retained for architectural and interior design.

The objective was to improve efficiency and mechanical updates while making the house more livable by today's standards. The exterior retained its original character, while the interior was transformed into a contemporary, inviting space perfect for hosting large gatherings.

Combining Timeless Architecture with Contemporary Kitchen ideas.

The main floor was reimagined to create an open living space, combining the kitchen, dining room, and family room. The kitchen, with its blend of wood, natural stone, and solid color blocks, visually integrates with the dining and family areas. Upper cabinets, which showcase the original dining room windows, offer storage, open display, and integrated lighting.

A butler's pantry was added to conceal daily items in an open plan space. Contrasting materials and separated lighting controls allow it to discreetly blend in when not in use. Extensive lighting design transforms the room based on different uses and times of the day, providing a versatile and welcoming environment.
